Prime Minister Denkov: Our goal is to make Bulgaria one of the greatest places to live in Europe

It is critical that we pool our expertise and experience to establish what is most essential for Bulgaria today. Why were justice reform, Schengen, the Eurozone, and the OECD goals for this administration's first year? Because by resolving these issues, we lay the groundwork for a far better and more sustainable existence.

This was mentioned by Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov during the start of the third edition of the Powers Summit 2023 event - "Power, listen," according to a BGNES reporter.

"Politicians' role is to create the conditions for people to live better lives." We have not been able to solve some of the fundamental problems in the last ten years, despite everything we have done, such as repairing our justice system and integrating into European and international institutions, which denies us the opportunity to develop as a country. As a result, in this initial phase, the priority are those on which we needed to catch up, since without them, there is no way to move forward," Denkov noted.

"In short, progress on these priorities has been remarkably good," he told reporters. "We talk about education, health care, scientific research, and innovation, but they appear piecemeal. The point is that we live well in Bulgaria, and in the coming months, this will be the topic on which we will unite and seek our collective reason in order to solve the puzzle of how Bulgaria will become one of the best places to live in Europe in the coming years," the Prime Minister said.

"I see today's meeting as an opportunity to hear you." "I say emphatically, 'I hear you, and I will continue to hear you,' because this is a collaborative effort involving business, scientists, educators, and politicians, all of whom must put into action what we have defined as common tasks for our collective good," Denkov added.

When asked what they planned to do once the rotation of the prime minister's seat was revealed at the end of next year, he said, "A government makes sense if it has clear goals that are useful to the people." What we can and aim to do is make improving people's quality of life in Bulgaria a top priority in 2025-2026, specifically to address demographic issues. People wish to reside in Bulgaria or return to Bulgaria. "Our goal after 2024 will be to make Bulgaria one of the best places to live in Europe," Denkov added.
