A raid by Special police officers has been launched on the properties of the richest Bulgarian Vasil Bozhkov, BGNES reported.
"Procedural-investigative and operative-search actions related to the investigation of the murder of Alexey Petrov are being carried out in Sofia", the Interior Ministry said in connection with the action.
Businessman Vasil Bozhkov is facing 20 criminal charges. For months he was hiding in Dubai, but later returned to Bulgaria, was detained, and then released under house arrest.
"They found nothing, back in 2020 they seized everything, nothing to find now. They said they were looking for documents for companies I had nothing to do with. I had nothing to do with Alexei Petrov", Bozhkov said.
Alexey Petrov was a businessman and lecturer in corporate security and counter-terrorism. He was killed on August 16, 2023. Versions of his murder are still being investigated. There were two assassination attempts against the businessman in the past, one in 2002 and one in 2015. /BGNES
