PM Nikolay Denkov: The policy of division is the most harmful for Bulgaria

Bulgaria has a political vision and should become a normal European country - with high incomes, attractive for investors. But in Bulgaria, divisions and tensions are building up, trying to separate us from this direction. There are people who would like, instead of working efficiently and tightly, to spoil everything so that they can come to power. There are politicians, both external and internal, who say 'the worse for Bulgaria, the better for us'. The politics of division is the most harmful for Bulgaria.

This is what the outgoing Prime Minister said. Nikolay Denkov, after the Cabinet made its report on the work done in the past 9 months, BGNES reported.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Gabriel also took part, recalling that if years ago the goals were Schengen and the Eurozone, today the goal is Bulgaria.

Gabriel commented that the next two days will be crucial for the negotiations between GERB and PP-DB. Denkov, for his part, added that they actually have all the preliminary information to enter constructively into negotiations and come up with a constructive result. He stressed that the important thing is that the negotiations will proceed point by point, to see where there is agreement, where there are differences.

Maria Gabriel highlighted as very important the key words "trust", "coordination" and "decision-making mechanism", pointing out that the best for the country is being sought.

Denkov is adamant that they should do their best in the next few days to reach an agreement.

He recalled the welcoming of the first air ambulance helicopter and said the work of journalists "also involves suggestion". "We saw this morning the claim that this helicopter has such problems that it cannot fly, given that it has flown from Italy to Bulgaria," the outgoing prime minister added.

In connection with Bulgaria's accession to Schengen, Nikolay Denkov pointed out that everyone can judge whether a glass is half full or half empty. "I prefer it to be half full. We are full members of Schengen with remaining control over the land border. Anyone familiar with diplomacy knows that this first step brings us much closer to the finish line," he added. / BGNES
