With 100% Sectional Election Position (SEC) protocols processed in the Municipal Election Commission (MEC), the second round of the local elections in Pazardzhik was won by the candidate of "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" Petar Kulenski.
17,702 of the citizens of Pazardzhik or 53.94% voted for him.
For the other candidate - Todor Popov from the local coalition "Novoto vreme" (editor's note: New Time), 14,425 of the locals voted, which makes 43.95% support.
692 are the votes in the column "I do not support anyone".
"The result in Pazardzhik is natural and is not a surprise. For the last 16 years, the city was governed according to a feudal model and is the most depopulated regional city in Bulgaria. Every fourth resident has left Pazardzhik in the last 10 years," commented the winner of the post of mayor to Bulgarian National Radio. He defined the financial situation of Pazardzhik Municipality as extremely difficult and stated that the city needs several urgent infrastructure projects. /BGNES
