Peevski: We will collect over 500 million in taxes from Lukoil

"Thanks to the fact that GERB and we from DPS submitted a proposal to revoke Lukoil's derogation, the refinery has declared to the head of the cabinet that they are ready to pay 500 million VAT, which they owe to our country." This was stated by Delyan Peevski from the DPS, a BGNES reporter reported.

Peevski emphasized that Prime Minister Denkov gave assurances about the payment of taxes by Lukoil. "This is an assurance from the prime minister. We state that if this does not happen, we will request the withdrawal of the derogation. We will also request an amendment to the law so that all citizens have access to the warehouses and free Bulgaria from the monopoly on Lukoil's storage facilities. We have clarified the Bulgartransgaz problem, you all know about the BGN 20. We will change the law so that the fees are collected from the Customs Agency, but if Bulgartransgaz does not get the money from Gazprom, we will take it is looking for the Ministry of Finance in the person of the Customs directly from Gazprom and the Russian side, so that there is no risk for the Bulgarian company", explained the MP from the DPS, after which he specified that there will be an extraordinary meeting on Friday to overcome the president's veto on the law on energy.

"There will no longer be a notification in the collection of fees and 0.73 cents will be collected for the Bulgarian taxpayer and will be used by the energy security fund, this decision is retroactive and therefore we will collect over a billion from the fund that were not paid from "Lukoil", emphasized Delyan Peevski.

Delyan Dobrev from GERB recalled that in January the National Assembly adopted a law which states that 70% of the difference between Ural and Brent oil should go into the Energy Security Fund and be returned by fuel users under form of compensation. "At the beginning of August, we calculated that Lukoil should have paid 622 million during that period. Divided by fuel consumption, this amounted to 0.73 cents, which citizens should have received in every liter of gasoline or diesel from January month so far and which they do not receive. We are confident that after overcoming the veto, "Lukoil" will start giving compensations to the fund. The most important thing is that there should be compensation for people, and these funds will come from Lukoil. After the compensation, fuel will not be BGN 3, but a little over BGN 2. That is, this is a measure like the one for a reduction of 0.25 cents per liter of fuel for consumers, only now people will receive a reduction of 0.73 cents and this money they will not come from the budget, but from "Lukoil", explained Delyan Dobrev.
He clarified that the government has taken responsibility to collect the fees from "Lukoil" and give the compensation to the people. /BGNES
