Peevski: Requests for a government are populism, ITN to return the mandate

The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) parliamentary group will not participate in negotiations to form a cabinet with the third mandate.

The chairman of the MRF Delyan Peevski insists "There is such a people"(ITN) political party, who today received the third exploratory mandate from President Rumen Radev and gave a request for an open round of negotiations with all parliamentary groups represented in the 50th National Assembly and independent deputies, to return the mandate and go ahead in the way of the Constitution.

"The MRF parliamentary group will not participate in negotiations to form a cabinet with the third mandate, not because we do not believe in the need for Bulgaria to have a stable and responsible government, but on the contrary - because we do not accept cheap populism and clichés to lose valuable political time of the country. The empty talk of ITN, which shows their political weakness and the pressures of the temporary resident of "Dondukov" 2 (the address of the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria - editor's note), are an imitation of politics and an absence of responsibility to the people. In addition, we are categorical - we cannot work with the pro-Russian party "Vazrazhdane" political party and for us this is the only, impenetrable red line", said further Delyan Peevski.

According to him, the requests for an attempt to form a government with the third mandate are nothing more than procrastination and implementation of an unregulated election campaign, by which the Bulgarian citizens will be lied to and misled.

"Responsible political behaviour only requires the representatives of ITN to return the mandate immediately, so that Radev, between two flights abroad, can fulfil his obligations under the Constitution and schedule the parliamentary elections," says Peevski. | BGNES
