Over 58,000 first-graders crossed the school threshold in Bulgaria, and 2,331 schools open their doors

2,331 schools open their doors to welcome their students on September 16. To date, more than 58,000 first-graders have been enrolled in them, with a total of more than 720,000 children from the preparatory groups in the schools and students from the first to the twelfth grade.

More than 92,000 teachers and specialists will work in kindergartens and schools.

During the new academic year, Bulgarian language and literature, history and geography of Bulgaria will be studied in 396 Sunday schools in 43 countries, and projects related to Bulgarian history and culture will be implemented.

Statesmen and politicians will attend the opening of the school year in various places in the capital and the country.

The Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov will open the new academic year in two Bulgarian schools. He will visit the 122. innovative OU "Nikolay Liliev" in Sofia at 9:30 a.m. and OU "Hristo Smirnenski" in the town of Rakovski at 2:30 p.m. on the first school day. In the capital school, the students will have a renewed sports facility, and in Rakovski, during the summer vacation, a new educational building was built with funds from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will participate in the ceremonial opening of the new school year at 35 SEU "Dobri Voynikov" in Sofia on Monday from 10 o'clock.| BGNES
