Nikola Tsolov won the sprint race in Monaco. The Bulgarian racer started from pole position and did brilliantly on the street track in Monte Carlo. Thus, Tsolov recorded his first victory and podium in Formula 3. Tim Tramnitz (MP Motorsport) finished second. The last place on the podium went to Nikola Tsolov's teammate Lawrence van Heupen.
Tsolov set off excellently and kept the first place after passing the turn St. Devo. Behind him Tim Tramnitz overtook the teammate of the Bulgarian Lawrence van Houpen. There was a chain crash in the area around the casino. The incident was caused by contact between Tsolov's second teammate – Christian Mansell and Arvid Lindblad, who hit each other in front of the casino, and subsequently Joshe Dufek, Alex were injured.
In the restart after this long break, Nikola did not leave any chance to Tramnitz and began to break away, with his lead reaching 2.5 seconds in the middle of the distance of 23 laps.
But then the safety car came out on the track because of an accident between Kasper Stuka and Sofia Fleursch. This time, however, Tsolov was very strong after the restart and blew away his competition, opening an advance of 4.3 seconds for eight laps and did not retreat until the end. He scored his first victory in Formula 3.
With his victory today Tsolov climbs to 12th place in the standings in Formula 3 with 17 points. The leader with 54 remains Fornaroli followed by Browning with 52 and Beganovic with 50.
The fourth weekend of the Formula 3 season ends tomorrow with the main race, which will start at 9:00 am Bulgarian time. In it, Tsolov will start 12th, and from the pole position will start Gabriele Minnie, who finished 11th today. /BGNES
