Nayden Todorov received a "green light" for Dimitar Talev's house in Prilep

Just a few days ago, BGNES wrote how due to the carelessness of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia, and as a result of the heavy rains, part of the native house of the writer Dimitar Talev - a symbol of Bulgarian history - collapsed.

The government commissioned the Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov to investigate the possibility as soon as possible and started the procedure for the purchase of Dimitar Talev's native house in Prilep. The ministers from the office of Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev united around this during their operational meeting yesterday.

A decision was made to acquire the property by the Bulgarian state as early as June 2023, but no concrete actions have been taken so far. This is also the reason why the topic formally entered the agenda of the executive power again. The specific reason for the decision of the Council of Ministers is the information about the collapse of a part of the house, which has been collapsing for years and its condition is extremely bad.

The problem is that at the moment only the owner of 2/3 of the property has announced her willingness to sell her part, and in 2023 the price she asked for is 100,000 euros. However, the other 1/3 belongs to another owner, who categorically refuses to sell his share to the Bulgarian state.

"This is a matter that should not be put off any longer. An urgent solution must be found, all actions must be taken to save the house of the great Bulgarian writer, including diplomatically. We owe it to our children, the house must be preserved, restored and turned into a museum," said Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev. /BGNES
