The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) parliamentary group (PG) excluded Jevdet Chakarov. MPs who supported the honorary chairman of the MRF Ahmed Dogan have also been excluded, reported BGNES.
The following are excluded from the list of the PG of the DPS: 1. Alizan Yahova; 2. Andrzej Jandev; 3. Valentin Tonchev; 4. Jevdet Chakarov; 5. Edis Daudov; 6. Esheref Esheref; 7. Levent Memish; 8. Erduan Mehmed; 9. Mario Rangelov; 10. Mehmed Salim; 11. Pavlin Krastev; 12. Sevim Ali; 13. Timur Khalilov; 14. Fatme Ramadan; 15. Habibe Rasim; 16. Hairi Sadakov; 17. Yusein Veiselov.
As soon as it became clear about the exclusion of the protesting MPs, Ahmed Akhmedov Vranchev left the group. Thus, the total number of people's representatives outside the ranks of the PG of the DPS becomes 18, and the parliamentary group of the movement has 26 deputies with 1 chairman in the person of Delyan Peevski and 6 vice-chairmen.
Jevdet Chakarov stated that the exclusion is an illegitimate act that does not comply with the MRF statute. According to him, this act was taken under pressure and out of fear.
The expelled MPs from the MRF PG will prepare a position, consult with lawyers, and will present it in the coming days. "You see the style and the approach, it is paid special attention by Dogan. Threats have been made against each of us," Chakarov announced. He stated that a number of MRF sympathizers do not support this approach. "We fully stand behind our honorary chairman, Dr. Ahmed Dogan, for the fact that we must return democratic principles to the functioning of the MRF, to overcome fear," Chakarov said categorically.
For his part, Delyan Peevski stressed that certain people want to destroy MRF. He cannot believe what Dogan wrote. "I have always been in favour of unification and now I am in favour of unification. I'm not at war with anyone, other people are at war,” he said. Asked if he could define Dogan as a derby, Peevski said that question should be addressed to the honorary chairman. He is adamant that MRF should have been united. Peevski stated that he did not split the MRF, but that 17 deputies practically excluded themselves with their actions.
Until now, the PG of the MRF numbered 44 people's representatives. As of today, the PG of the movement will number 26. This makes it the fourth political formation in the parliament. PP-DB has 39 people's representatives, "Vazrazhdane" - 38. From this follows the second exploratory mandate that President Rumen Radev will hand over to We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (WCC-DB).
The crisis in the MRF deepened after the letter of the honorary chairman of the MRF, Dr. Ahmed Dogan, in which he demanded that Delyan Peevski and five other key persons from the party resign. Peevski flatly refused to do so, saying that doing so would betray the trust of party members.
The party crisis caused a number of comments, both among the representatives of the MRF and from other parties.
Ramadan Atalai, who was expelled last week from the PG of the MRF, believes that the crisis has begun to be resolved. He stated that the collective bodies would meet soon and a decision would be taken. According to him, if the National Council decides to remove Peevski, "even if he continues to persist, things will be resolved."
GERB leader Boyko Borisov stated that there are tremors everywhere: "The tremors in the second are the same as in the third, fourth and fifth parties. You have always heard from me that I don't get involved in foreign parties and I don't allow them to get involved in GERB either." He recalled that 3 months ago he stated that GERB would not participate in a coalition in which it is only with MRF.
"As for MRF - we already stated 3 months ago that a coalition with MRF only GERB will not do. Then we heard all kinds of nonsense from analysts, what do I think? The negotiations proved indisputably that we neither asked for support nor gave support to MRF", recalled the leader of GERB and specified: I was in a group with Lena, Kiro, Asen and Denkov and the cabinet was called Gabriel-Denkov. MRF did not participate in this meeting, nor did they have ministers, nor did they participate in the negotiations.
To the question of who will win in the MRF, the leader answered jokingly: I don't like the Spain-England final. Who will win there in this case is none of our business. I see that tremendous opportunity is opening up because in the mixed regions, the battle was fought only between GERB and MRF.
The co-chairman of WCC-DB Kiril Petkov stated that we are witnessing the slow degradation of the "Peevski" model.
Toshko Yordanov from the "There is Such People" political party stated that "we are watching the processes in the MRF with interest." "Before this briefing, we all stretched out on the TV to watch another batch of MRF MPs being turned off. We will be watching with interest,” he said. | BGNES
