Market Links Agency: 5 parties enter the 51st Bulgarian National Assembly, GERB is first, MRF - second

More than 700,000 people are about to decide who they will vote for within the next two months.

The first political force in the upcoming early parliamentary elections on October 27 is GERB again with 21.9% of the votes. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) before the split would receive 15.4% support.

The third place goes to the We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (WCC-DB) coalition - with 14.3% support from the voters. Followed by the "Vazrazhdane" political party with 11.5% and the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) with 6.2%.

Below the 4 per cent barrier remains the party "There is such a people" (ITN) - 3.2% of the voters. "Velichie" political party is also below the line with only 2%.

This is according to the data of a national survey financed and implemented jointly by bTV and "Market Links". It was conducted among 1038 persons over 18 years of age in the country in the period August 14-23, 2024, using the methods of direct personal interview and online survey.

Sociologist Dobromir Zhivkov explained that the result of the MRF in the latest survey is one of the highest of the party and this is probably due to the mobilization of both factions. According to him, if the MRF splits into two political formations and thus appears in the upcoming elections, there is a good chance that both will enter the parliament.

"The other big question mark, apart from MRF, are the two political forces that are at the bottom of the ranking at the moment - ITN and "Velichie", for which it is not certain that they will enter the next parliament", added Zhivkov on television this morning.

The upcoming early parliamentary elections are the seventh in three years, and within four months we will be voting for the second time for the National Assembly.

"At the moment, we do not see a serious charge of wishes to participate in the elections. Even the declared activity, which is usually higher than the real one, hovers around 40%," announced Dobromir Zhivkov.

According to him, there is little hope that on October 27 we will bounce back from the bottom of the record low voter turnout that we achieved in the parliamentary elections on June 9 – 34.41%.

The pre-election campaign will be crucial to the distribution of votes in the October 27 election.
