Russian oil company Lukoil, which owns Bulgaria's largest oil refinery Neftohim in the Black Sea port of Burgas, has paid 25 million leva less to a state agency, BGNES reported.
The company was supposed to pay 70 million leva, but in December it paid only 45 million leva to the Electricity System Security Fund. The money is supposed to go to compensate consumers for transportation.
The amount is less than the amount set by the Ministry of Economy and it remains to be seen what the reason for this is. The Fund has to provide information to the National Revenue Agency by the end of the current month about the contributions not paid on time.
Delyan Peevski, chairman of the parliamentary group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, said that the Russian company Lukoil had once again demonstrated its disregard for the decisions of the Bulgarian parliament and the country's laws by contributing 25 million leva less.
"I urge the competent state authorities to immediately take the necessary actions to collect the 25 million owed by the company, protecting the interests of the state and the people," Peevski urged. /BGNES
