The chairman of the parliamentary group"There is such a people" (ITN) Toshko Yordanov returned to Bulgarian President Rumen Radev the unfulfilled third exploratory mandate for forming a government within the framework of the 50th National Assembly, reported BGNES.
Together with Toshko Yordanov, Stanislav Balabanov, Ivaylo Valchev and Dragomir Petrov also came to "Dondukov" 2 (the President's Office address - ed. note).
"I want to thank you for your efforts to successfully use the third and last mandate in a very complicated political environment," the head of state said, adding that the spiral of inconclusive elections continues to rage and unlocks several destructive processes, as well as doubts about parliamentarism.
Radev emphasized that the solution to this political crisis is in the hands of the political parties. He appealed for meaningful political debate and fair play in the coming weeks, otherwise "we are doomed to repeat procedures".
For his part, Toshko Yordanov thanked for the trust that the president gave the third mandate to ITN. According to him, there is also some positivism in the whole situation, namely that they ended up talking to all but one of the political parties.
"To some extent, some basis of audibility was laid. We found that we have no particular differences and we could go together on this path," Yordanov said, but he also noted the lack of political will.
"We are returning the mandate unfulfilled," he declared.
The president pointed out that the list of possible prime ministers is getting even shorter. "Raya Nazaryan is also the only potential candidate for caretaker prime minister, with whom I have not discussed the possibilities of forming a government", declared Radev and announced that he would invite Raya Nazaryan for a conversation today.
