Hristo Ivanov: It is justified to have tactical cooperation with MPs who want to eliminate Peevski's influence

At this moment, when in the National Assembly it is possible to outline some tactical actions to limit the influence of Delyan Peevski on the official cabinet, it is justified to reflect on this, I think as an individual, as a  citizen.

This was stated by the former chairman of the "Yes, Bulgaria" political party, part of the "Democratic Bulgaria" coalition, Hristo Ivanov, on the occasion of his call for the We Continue the Chabge - Democratic Bulgaria (WCC-DB) to work together with Ahmed Dogan against Delyan Peevski, BGNES reported.

Ivanov is adamant that he did not hold any talks with the honorary chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Ahmed Dogan, and that his call was for "tactical cooperation" and not for working with "deputies who want to eliminate Peevski's influence", and not specifically with Ahmed Dogan.

"I have talked to different people, citizens, who had a variety of opinions, but there was no contact along party lines. I have never spoken directly or indirectly, on the phone or in person, with Ahmed Dogan," Ivanov is categorical.

And he talked with Peevski about the need to carry out a structural reform of the judiciary. "And I have no problem having this conversation with you or anyone else," added Ivanov.

Asked if Raya Nazaryan should be the speaker of the parliament, he answered: "The topic is not Raya Nazaryan at all. The topic is how, if it comes to elections, because we are not yet sure what will happen with the third term, an alternative can be provided for the president to choose a potential candidate for prime minister, which is not tied to Peevski."

Ivanov explained that he does not expect the roots of corruption to be removed, he does not even expect the stem to be removed, but according to him, "the current poisonous fruits and seeds that can reproduce the pattern can now be uprooted, limiting the influence of Delyan Peevski ".

Even after the decision of the Constitutional Court, he is adamant that his efforts were not in vain.

"I am not doing politics at the moment. I am here as a citizen to be heard. They called me. Let us assume that I did not come of my own accord. I'm invited. Can I refrain from responding, will it be respectful to the parliament," emphasized Ivanov.

He is categorical that he is not conducting politics, but rather complex phenomena and practices that must be eliminated and which are connected to certain people.

When asked if we are again talking about the interference of the political power in the judicial power, Ivanov noted that such interference has not been eliminated, including thanks to the decisions of the Constitutional Court. | BGNES
