Grigor Dimitrov drops one place in the world rankings

Grigor Dimitrov has slipped to 17th place in the newly updated ATP World rankings. Bulgaria's top-ranked tennis player has lost one position, due to American Ben Shelton's climb of four spots following his victory in Tokyo, marking his first career title.

32-year-old Dimitrov currently holds 2195 points. He is scheduled to compete in the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna this week, where he will face Italian Lorenzo Musets in the opening round. The second-highest ranked Bulgarian player is Dimitar Kuzmanov, holding the 193rd spot, while Adrian Andreev is the other Bulgarian representative in the top 300, ranked 251st.

In the top 10 of the rankings there is only one change, with American Taylor Fritz displacing Alexander Zverev from the 9th position. Novak Djokovic continues his reign as the world number one, marking his 396th week at the top, and he is closing in on the historic 400-week milestone.

In the women's rankings, Victoria Tomova has also dropped one position and now stands at 99th. Additionally, Gergana Topalova (ranked 240) and Isabella Shinikova (ranked 288) are among the top 300 women's players.

Arina Sabalenka maintains a comfortable lead of about 600 points over Iga Swiatek at the top of the women's rankings. /BGNES
