Gradev: Bulgaria-Hungary game moved from Plovdiv

The European qualifier between Bulgaria and Hungary scheduled for November 16 will no longer take place in Plovdiv, as announced by sports law specialist Georgi Gradev on social media. Several days ago, Gradev lodged a complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, contesting UEFA's decision to relocate the match from Sofia to Plovdiv.

Gradev disclosed that UEFA declined to address the complaint via the fast-track procedure, prompting him to petition CAS to halt the match transfer pending a thorough examination of the case in court.

Simultaneously, reports from bTV indicate that Plovdiv's mayor, Kostadin Dimitrov, has prohibited the match from occurring in the city. The stated reasons include concerns about insufficient security at the stadium, with ongoing construction activities planned during the specified period.

As of now, the Bulgaria-Hungary match is still scheduled for November 16 at 19:00 at the "Hristo Botev" stadium in Plovdiv. /BGNES
