"We will respond to We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria's invitation (WCC-DB) for talks regarding their declaration presented to President Radev. However, there will be no support for the second and third term". This was stated by Denitsa Sacheva, deputy chairman of the PG of GERB-Union of Democratic Forces (GERB-UDF), BGNES reported.
"Despite our remarks, the parliamentary group (PG) of GERB is a systemic party, and we will respond to the invitation to a meeting. Lyudmila Ilieva, Nadezhda Kordanova and Bozhidar Bozhanov will be present at the meeting from the WCC-DB side, and myself, Raya Nazaryan and Rosen Zhelyazkov from our side", announced Sacheva.
However, the position of GERB-UDF remains unchanged - there will be no support for a second or third term, Sacheva reminded.
"We received a letter from Bozhidar Bojanov to Boyko Borisov, chairman of the PG of GERB-UDF, in which representatives of our parliamentary group are invited to participate in a meeting to discuss the draft declaration announced by the WCC-DB at a meeting with the president. So far we have received divergent opinions from the WCC-DB. We did not even receive a written refusal for a meeting from the WCC-DB. Obviously, due to technical reasons, the coalition has become the second force , and we see some maturity on their part. We are skeptical about how much a parliamentary group with 39 people can afford to dictate the agenda of society and how a parliamentary group that has lost 300,000 votes continues to teach morals," Sacheva added.
"We hope that the upcoming election campaign will give colleagues the opportunity to rethink their behaviour and that in the next parliament, the priorities that we constantly present to the public will become real political results," the deputy chairman of the PG of GERB also pointed out.
Temenuzka Petkova emphasized that the WCC-DB claims that only they "are the anti-corruptionists" and now they will test the other parties, but according to her, this is not the case. "The fact that you have proclaimed yourself a fighter against corruption does not make you one. We should not forget that WCC-DB owes answers to the Bulgarian society related to corruption scandals - Gemcorp, the smuggling of the Customs Agency and the photos with the tutus and the poodles, the requested derogation without reasons for it - WCC-DB owe answers for them", Temenuzka Petkova is categorical.
She added that all attempts to add anti-corruption legislation and talk should be forgotten by WCC-DB in order to have fruitful talks. "The sooner you stop proclaiming yourself to be the only fighters against corruption in the country and the only anti-corruption party in the country, the faster we will find the way to each other to solve people's problems," commented Petkova.
It became clear from the briefing that today a decision will be made at the presidential council on whether to fill the composition of the parliamentary committees this week. |BGNES
