The former chairman of Sofia Municipal Council and second on the list of municipal councilors of GERB-SDS Georgi Georgiev thanked for the support he received in the local elections held on Sunday.
"Dear fellow citizens, thank you to everyone who participated in the local elections and supported the various candidates and parties. Democracy requires effort, and therefore exercising the right to vote is not only an opportunity, but also our responsibility towards society," he wrote on the social network.
In the elections on October 29, Georgiev received over 4,000 personal preferences, while in the previous ones they were around 400.
"I have always preferred facts to empty talk. Your trust means a lot to me and to the work I have done with my colleagues and my great council administration team," he adds.
Georgiev emphasizes that the battle for Sofia is not over yet, because mayors of 21 regions are to be elected on Sunday.
"Let's support the GERB-SDS candidates against their non-working "change" opponents in the runoff. I know our nominees personally and I know that they work with enthusiasm and care," Georgiev underlined. /BGNES
