EXCLUSIVE: First photos and video of the chopped up figures from the Monument to the Soviet Army in the village of Lozen

The figures cut into pieces from the Monument to the Soviet Army are literally placed in the mud of a meadow in the Sofia village of Lozen, a BGNES reporter saw.

In the photos and video material of the BGNES Agency, shot with a drone, it is clear how the bronze elements of the monument have not yet been put away in the sheds provided for the purpose.

From documents distributed earlier today by the regional administration of Sofia, it is clear that special security has been assigned to the units, although no one is visible in the halls.

BGNES recalls that at 4:30 in the night the cut elements of the monument were transported to the hall in the village of Lozen. Workers are currently dismantling the scaffolding erected around the highest part of the monument in the center of Sofia.

The plan for dismantling the monument called for each of the figures to be dismembered into two parts from the waist up - half of the torso and head and the other half, each weighing about 4-5 tons. The concrete-filled legs were also split from the waist down and dismantled individually.

After two orders of the Administrative Court - Sofia-city, the regional governor Vyara Todeva ordered the suspension of the dismantling activities - as early as December 19, and the orders themselves were appealed within the deadline, according to the regional administration.

The administration adds that they strictly follow the law.

In parallel, the development of a technical specification for the planned restoration of the figures begins./BGNES
