This was decided at the Bulgarian caretaker government meeting today.
Ekaterina Zaharieva from GERB-UDF (GERB - Union of Democratic Forces - editor's note) and Julian Popov from We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria coalition (WCC-DB) are the candidacies approved by the Council of Ministers for members of the European Commission on behalf of the Republic of Bulgaria.
This was decided at the Bulgarian caretaker government meeting.
Earlier today, caretaker government Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev thanked all parliamentary groups for their serious attitude to the topic and the proposed nominations.
"The rules are to be followed, that's why we will present to the European Commission the candidacies for European Commissioner from Bulgaria that comply with the rules," Glavchev said at the beginning of the meeting. He made it clear that any speculation that there are distributed portfolios is untenable.
The caretaker government prime minister also said that the cabinet was not late with any deadlines regarding the collection of the applications for the European commissioner from Bulgaria. The allocation of resources is done by the European Council. | BGNES
