Dozens of houses burned down in the fire in the Bulgarian village of Voden

The situation with the fires in the country continues to be critical.

Dozens of inhabited houses have burned down in the Topolovgrad village of Voden, reported the correspondent of BGNES in the region.

The gendarmerie guards the village all night. The fire is still burning in the area, but electricity was restored in the town that night. At least 35 houses have burned, in some places the fire has already been brought under control.

As BGNES was the first to show, some of its residents left it yesterday after the horror they experienced. The flames reached the houses, and people wandered without the help of the institutions. Animals and property were also burned.

The situation with the fires in the country continues to be critical.

The situation remains complicated in the area of the Plovdiv village of Otets Paisievo, where the fire has already destroyed over 30 buildings in the villa area. The duty teams on site have intervened several times when fires ignited.

Today, it is expected that more than 200 people - firemen, military, foresters and volunteers - will be involved in the extinguishing, since due to the wind the fire started towards the neighboring village of Otets Paisievo, Prolom. The situation will be most critical before noon, since at that time the wind suddenly changes its direction. Firefighters and municipal officials have already issued a call for volunteers to help deal with the disaster.

The two helicopters from the Czech Republic, which will fight the fires in our country, are already at Plovdiv airport. They will be involved in fighting the fire today as flights are carried out during the daylight hours.

Yesterday, acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, who visited Stara Zagora because of the fire near the city, announced that all possible mechanisms, including the European Union, have been activated to deal with the situation with the flames in the country. Aid has been promised by the Czech Republic and Romania.

20 firefighting teams from Turkey also arrived that night. Late last night, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a request to the Turkish authorities to provide logistical assistance to the Bulgarian firefighters in connection with the fires that broke out.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Kalin Stoyanov, will meet the teams in Strandzha, after which they will be redirected to the interior of the country, where additional reinforcement of the first line against the fiery element is needed.

The arrival of two Turkish helicopters is also expected this morning, and estimates of their flight plans will be made in due course. I BGNES
