David Cameron in Sofia: Putin must see that he was wrong

We had important talks regarding Ukraine. Putin needs to see that he is wrong and Bulgaria is showing its solidarity, as is Britain and many other countries.

This is what the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, Lord David Cameron, said in Sofia, reported BGNES.

In a joint statement with Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and Deputy Prime Minister Maria Gabriel, Cameron recalled that he had already visited Bulgaria in his capacity as Prime Minister. He noted that Bulgaria is an important partner of the United Kingdom and an ally in NATO.

The main focus of the talks in the Council of Ministers is Russia's war against Ukraine.

Cameron made an appeal from Sofia to the American Congress, which today voted on a package of economic measures.

We have economic, military and diplomatic capabilities. The only thing needed now is political will on the part of the countries that support Ukraine, David Cameron pointed out.

Congratulations on ditching Russian oil and gas. Disinformation coming from Russia affects all countries. Migration is a topic that is used to turn voters against, David Cameron also said in Sofia and noted the need for comparable armaments and capabilities in NATO.

The Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom noted that Bulgaria is taking the necessary steps to stop the import of boats and engines for migrant traffickers.

We must oppose the organized criminal gangs that carry out human trafficking, stressed the Briton.

David Cameron also announced that he and Denkov and Gabriel talked about the government and the governance formula.

I myself have been in a coalition. I am glad to see the good results of the coalition in Bulgaria as well, Cameron pointed out. /BGNES
