CSKA achieved a second victory over Levski within 20 days after totally outplayed the Blues and won 3:1 the derby at the National Stadium in the first playoff round of the championship, BGNES reported.
At Vasil Levski stadium the police had cordoned off two large buffer zones between the fans of the two teams, but even the areas reserved for the supporters were not filled, as the low interest can be explained by the poor performance of both teams this year. Unlike the derby on 7 April, this time the match was not marked by excesses in the stands, as there was no missile fire between the stands.
On the pitch, the Army men, who have been recording shaky results in recent weeks and underwent a coaching change recently, took advantage of their rival's mistakes and ripped them apart in one half. "The Blues had the first chance to take the lead but Javad El Jemili's shot from the edge of the penalty area met the side-netting after Gustavo Busato's intervention. The CSKA players waited for their moment and took the lead in the 25th minute when Ullaus Skarsham scored from an added goal after a mistake in the opponent's defence.
Ten minutes later, on another counter-attack for CSKA, Scarsham found his compatriot Jonathan Lindseth perfectly, who with an accurate shot on the ground left no chances for Plamen Andreev. Nikolay Kostov's players were in a knockdown and after another ten minutes they cashed in a third goal, this time Fabio Lima made a brutal mistake in bringing the ball back and Marcellino Barea scored into an empty net.
"The Blues came out motivated to retaliate after the break, but their strength was enough for an honourable goal from substitute Asimi Fadiga, who scored with an accurate diagonal shot after Tsunami's centre. By the end, both teams had their chances but no more shots fell.
CSKA thus recorded a second win over its big rival in April and pulled four points ahead of third-placed Cherno More, but leader Ludogorets could become champions as early as tomorrow if it takes home Krumovgrad. Levski is fifth in the standings with 54 points. /BGNES
