CSKA and Arda match ended in a 0-0 draw. At „Balgarska Armia“ stadium in the capital Reds lost two points in the battle for the championship title, but are fortunate they did not lose because of Arda’s two great chances in the end.
Nestor El Maestro’s team played today in black because of tomorrow’s 100th anniversary of AS 23. Tobias Heintz shot first in the game but without problems for the visitors’ captain Anatoli Gospodinov. There weren’t many more great opportunities for both teams before half-time.
After the break CSKA continued to struggle with Arda’s good organization in defence. Substitution Michael Estrada went close to goal, with his shot hitting the post. Aleksandar Tunchev’s men had two big chances to take all points to Kardjali, but Stanislav Ivanov’s shot was saved by Gustavo Busatto, before Preslav Borukov to get close by shooting just wide. The hosts had a good opportunity in stoppage time, but Deyan Lozev cleaned the ball for a corner just before Danilo Asprilla was aiming to score the winning goal.
CSKA lost points in the championship battle. The team has 29 points, three less than leaders Cherno more and two less than Lokomotiv Plovdiv – albeit, Reds have one game in advance compared to both teams. Arda continues their good form, after the 0-0 draw against Ludogorets in the last round. They are sixth in the table with 24 points, with a match less than today’s opponent.
Arda’s difficult games don’t stop here – they will host Levski in a postponed match next week, while CSKA visits Etar in Veliko Tarnovo in another postponed game. /BGNES
