Contrera: Now that the Sofia election circus is finished, it's time to go back to work

"Finita la commedia," commented Carlos Contrera, a VMRO municipal councilor in the Metropolitan Municipal Council, on his Facebook page.

"It's a relief that this meaningless Sofia election campaign is over!" It's time to go to work for the people of Sofia and the city. Slogans and generic political discourse must be replaced by actual answers for the people."

He also stated that, with the commencement of the Metropolitan Municipal Council's activity, he will offer specific ideas on the issue of "Transport" in the coming days:

- the provision of five tourist buses for the Vitosha lines, over which the PC "Transport and Road Safety" must make a decision. The documentation has been presented to the commission, and the monies are coming from the Metropolitan Municipality's budget.

- the establishment of an expert working group with specialists to enhance passenger information in public transportation, which Mario Evstatiev and I promised to persons with visual and hearing difficulties.

- a study on the procurement of 12- and 18-meter secondhand buses to address the capital's transportation technology's medium-term challenge. We've been working with specialists on the plan since the spring of this year, but it was presumptuously rejected by GERB, Democratic Bulgaria, and Save Sofia in July. The revised report, which we are working on with the expert Mario Evstatiev, I will submit as a municipal councilor as soon as the SOS's new mandate begins.

- development of an analysis and program for the supply of new and replacement of old and inefficient stop signs in order to fulfill passengers' expectations for improved information.

- tightening control over inappropriate stopping, staying, and parking at public transportation points, with the campaign targeting stops and regions with a high number of offenses.

"These are only some of the areas on which we are already working and creating recommendations on the topic of "Transport". There is only one municipal councilor in our VMRO municipal council mandate, but I rely on a solid team of professionals with whom we can design and defend initiatives for city improvement. We rely on Mario Evstatiev's knowledge in "Transport"; Vladimir Mitov's competence in sports and youth activities; Adv. Mikhail Petrov's expertise in legal issues and regulations; and Dimitar Antov and Kalina Kalinkova's expertise in culture and education. Of course, on specific themes and instances, VMRO - Sofia relies on the expertise and activity of dozens of its members, sympathizers, and like-minded individuals, with whom we wage committed struggles for a more orderly, orderly, and clean city," stated Carlos Contrera's team.

These are the persons with whom the VMRO advisers collaborated well throughout the expiring mandate.

"We anticipate that the current mandate will debunk claims that it will be barren, unprincipled, and chaotic." This is dependent on the incoming mayor and the remaining 60 municipal councilors in SOS," said the VMRO mayor.

"Sofia and its people expect work, not political delights and laxity," Contrera writes in his piece. /BGNES
