Bulgarian President Rumen Radev to journalists about the plane crash in Graf Ignatievo: Don't ask me stupid questions!

Let political speculators, self-proclaimed experts who have never been on a plane, not be allowed to manipulate public opinion about the crash, self-aggrandize and live in the role of prosecutors and judges.

This is what President Rumen Radev said in connection with the plane crash of Count Ignatievo on Friday, September 13, in which two pilots died. The incident happened during a dress rehearsal for a planned air show, before which the president personally took part in a demonstration flight, BGNES reported.

It is proper to wait for the conclusion of the work of the competent commission and then to speculate, added Rumen Radev.

According to the president, the videos and clips currently cannot lead to real conclusions about what exactly happened.

"Many factors need to be analyzed and I'm sure they will be analyzed," the president added.

"Don't ask me stupid questions at all, there is a plan - it's up to the Air Force (Air Force) and the Ministry of Defense to decide how it's done," Rumen Radev answered the journalists and advised the media to inquire and find the answers.

The President recalled that during the CSNS he raised the issue of the "dangerously small" raid by the Bulgarian pilots.

"Not only for this, in general for the prospects for the development of the Bulgarian Army, for the Air Force, which is a big consumer of the budget. Aviation equipment is expensive, maintenance is expensive and flying is the most expensive, but there promises are made and then forgotten. Politicians and managers think of such things - the people who make decisions about spending the budget only when elections are approaching or an accident occurs. That's why I appeal again to take adequate measures, so that the aviation equipment is finally brought to the required level of serviceability, and new technical means are implemented to support the flight activity", said Rumen Radev.

He recalled that the investment program for modernization was submitted to the National Assembly.

"I expect adequate actions", Radev also said and recalled that he had repeatedly called for emergency measures to attract and retain people with qualities in the army.

The investigative commission will also establish the flight hours of the deceased Major Petko Dimitrov and Senior Lieutenant Vencislav Dunkin.

“These people have really had a good run. Major Dimitrov was the most experienced on the L-39," the president added and emphasized: "What and how exactly happened will be established by the commission."

Asked if he was ready to convene the CSNS, the president replied that in order to have a council, there must be a hearing from its participants.

"And when it comes to a specific proposal for a solution, it must be implemented," Radev replied. | BGNES
