"The real reasons for the request for the resignation of the chairman of State Agency for National Security (SANS) Plamen Tonchev have been known for a long time and they are in that record. They aim at mastering the services. A government is strong by obeying the law, not by positioning itself above it". This was stated by President Rumen Radev, a BGNES reporter reported.
"I carefully listened to Prime Minister Denkov on Friday. The law on SANS clearly states the reasons for the release of the chairman of SANS, and among them there is no lack of trust on the part of the prime minister", Radev emphasized.
"According to the Prime Minister's logic, the government should resign immediately, because the vast majority of Bulgarians do not trust them. They hold each other tightly", Radev said.
According to the president, Nikolay Denkov does not understand the roles and tasks of SANS.
"I will familiarize myself with the reasons presented by the prime minister, I do not think that the elections should be used as a scenario for another attack. From the reasons presented by the prime minister on Friday, the impression remains that Tonchev's resignation is being demanded because he complied with the law, not because he broke the law".
"The government and the prime minister should direct their attention to the actions of the deputy minister of e-Government, where the sabotage actually starts", Radev added.
The day after the run-off, the president commented that the local government will have to, among other things, deal with the consequences of the record low voter turnout and the already lowered legitimacy. /BGNES
