We are deeply shocked by the horrific attack on former President Donald Trump at a campaign event. This is stated in a position of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, distributed by the Council of Ministers on the social network X.
"We express our condolences to the victim and wish full recovery to those injured in the attack. Political violence is unacceptable and incompatible with democracy," the position also says.
GERB leader Boyko Borisov also strongly condemned the shooting of Trump.

Violence can never solve political differences, believes Kiril Petkov, the co-chairman of "We Continue the Change". "Shooting against former President Donald Trump is an unacceptable act. I wish Mr Trump a speedy recovery and call on all political forces to unite in condemning such acts of violence," Petkov wrote on his Facebook profile.

The letter was signed by Jevdet Chakarov, chairman of the MRF, and a group of people's representatives.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) strongly condemns any violence against the person, any encroachment on the political rights of citizens to vote and be elected, and the free and fair electoral process.

"We condemn the attempted assassination of one of the candidates for the presidency of the United States, Donald Trump, and we express our concern about the consequences it may have both on American domestic politics and potentially on global relations.
