Bulgarian PM Denkov: On March 6 at the latest, the cabinet must have resigned

Criticism of a minister does not necessarily lead to his replacement, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said.

Everyone can be criticized, including me, but it is a fact that the cabinet has coped with a huge part of its tasks. Even if we change the minister, I will thank him for what he has done. There is a sense of change, only if we know that a person will come who has the desire and the qualities to cope, and not as an end in itself - to be a real alternative. On March 6, at the latest, the cabinet must have resigned, so that the new one - that of Maria Gabriel, can take office as quickly as possible. This was stated to Nova TV by Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov from the Swiss resort of Davos, where he participated in the World Economic Forum.

According to him, the implementation of the management program is the most important. "Criticism of a minister does not necessarily lead to his replacement. Ministers' experience is a plus, it is good for everyone to complete their activities. I never asked for the resignation of the interior minister, not because I have no criticism, but because I know that it is not easy to found a person who meets all expectations, from all sides. The composition of the Council of Ministers must work together, and each individual minister has his weight. I am satisfied with the team we had," he declared.

Denkov revealed that for him the initial reaction after the incident in Stara Zagora was not adequate, so he spoke with Kalin Stoyanov again. "There is a period of accumulation and maturation in every single minister, and therefore when we see that there is progress, we must support his efforts. There are also criticisms of the Minister of Defense, but this does not mean asking for his replacement," the Prime Minister pointed out.

According to him, the regulators should be filled with people with the necessary expertise and biography. "There will be no quotas, and we have agreed on this with GERB and DPS. No specific names have been discussed. We talked about how to include NGOs and branch organizations to evaluate the qualities of the candidates," emphasized Denkov.

He also commented on the forum in Davos. "The meeting with Google was aimed at looking for a partnership. DeepMind works with the Bulgarian institute INSAIT, a leader in the field of artificial intelligence. We discussed the possibilities of developing this cooperation for business for people in our country. We talked about how to introduce artificial intelligence more and more into education, as well as how to support the government in relation to social services for the people," revealed the Prime Minister.

A huge problem, he says, is the use of external dangers to divide societies and turn people against each other. "Davos is one of the forums that gives us the opportunity to look at these dangers and unite against them. In this context, Ukraine has its proposals for the search for lasting peace. We need to reach a solution so that no new threats of this kind arise," he said categorically. is the academician. /BGNES
