Bulgarian PM Denkov on "Lukoil" scandal: No evidence suggests anyone from Bulgaria helped Lukoil evade sanctions

There are currently no signs that any Bulgarians are aiding in the transgression of the sanctions. It is good to have an EC examination of the Bulgarian Lukoil facility. This will further assure the reliability and impartiality of the inspection.

According to today's dispatch from the BGNES bureau in Sliven, this was said by Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov.

Denkov, NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Joanna, and Defence Minister Todor Tagarev all kept an eye on the international fighting group in Bulgaria as it operated. At the Novo Selo training site, personnel participated in the Iron Strike -2023 exercise, demonstrating their ability to conduct a defence operation.

"Since yesterday, I see a combination of true facts with false assumptions, which are presented in a rather one-sided logical construct that can easily be used for political benefit," stated the Prime Minister.

Denkov emphasised his excitement about the impending examination and promised European Union participation.

The Prime Minister clarified that "Sanctions - as they are defined, are respected by both the institutions and Lukoil." /BGNES
