Bulgarian Parliament's Motion on the National Assembly Speaker's Resignation about to Fail

GERB-Union of Democratic Forces (GERB-UDF) did not enter the parliamentary hall of the Bulgarian National Assembly this morning, and due to a lack of quorum, the Speaker of the National Assembly ordered a 30-minute break, reported BGNES.

Today, the resignation of the chairman of the National Assembly Rosen Zhelyazkov was to be voted on, a request initiated by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), "Vazrazhdane" political party and We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (WCC-DB).

Against this request, some of the WCC-DB and BSP groups also did not register. "With this act, WCC-DB saved Rosen Zhelyazkov and GERB. There is an agreement between them. In addition, 6 people from BSP also did not register," said Kostadin Kostadinov from "Vazrazhdane".

"The WCC-DB, which stood on Peevski's lap, today made a circus. With heavy statements about how they will demand the resignation of Rosen Zhelyazkov, today they failed the quorum of the National Assembly, with which they saved Zhelyazkov," said Toshko Yordanov from ITN political party. /BGNES
