Bulgarian Parliament continues with the vote on the 2024 budget

Members of the Bulgarian Parliament continue voting and adopting next year's budget on Thursday. A significant amendment that they will vote on is the threefold increase in gambling fees, BGNES reported.

According to the amendments for issuing and maintaining a license for online betting, a two-component state fee is collected, consisting of a one-time fee in the amount of BGN 400 thousand and a variable part in the amount of 20 percent on the difference between the value of the bets received and the winnings paid out, and for games for which fees and commissions are collected for participation - in the amount of 20 percent on the value of the fees and commissions received. In addition, a one-time state fee of BGN 300,000 is collected for issuing and maintaining a license for games in a gaming casino with a license term of 5 years, and for issuing and maintaining a license for games in a gaming casino with a license term of 10 years a one-time state fee of BGN 600,000 is collected. The changes provide that a one-time state fee of BGN 75,000 is collected for issuing and maintaining a license for slot machine games with a license term of 5 years, when the games are organized in settlements with up to 500,000 inhabitants, and in the amount of BGN 150,000 when the games are organized in settlements with more than 500,000 inhabitants. It remains to be seen whether this change will also pass in the plenary hall.

The MPs will also vote on the capital expenditures for next year, and the proposal is that they should be in the amount of BGN 9,994,003 million.

The members of the Bulgarian Parliament will also vote on the proposal to create the "Stambolov" Fund, with which to finance our masters abroad in the amount of BGN 5 million.

MPs will vote on the funds for municipal investment projects. This is happening for the first time as the program for financing investment projects of the 265 municipalities is included in the plan-account. The number of projects that each municipality can apply for financing with funds from the National Investment Program will not be limited. Depending on the category of the municipality, maximum value thresholds have been determined, within which the projects for the respective municipalities should be: for municipalities with category 1 – up to BGN 50 million; for category 2 municipalities – up to BGN 30 million; for category 3 municipalities – up to BGN 15 million; for category 4 municipalities – up to BGN 10 million and for category 5 municipalities – up to BGN 6 million. For municipalities with a population of over 180,000 according to NSI data, the total value of the projects will be up to BGN 100 million.

The MPs vote on the proposal, the Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the Minister of Health, assigns the design for the construction of a "National Multidisciplinary Children's Hospital" in Sofia after creating the necessary conditions and prerequisites for this.

Members of the Bulgarian Parliament will also vote for the electricity for schools, kindergartens, churches and monasteries to switch to the prices of a regulated market.

Bulgarian MPs will vote on the allocation of BGN 27 million for the creation of a Center for cyber security and shared information resources. In addition, they will also vote on the allocation of BGN 7 million for the renovation of the Constitutional Court building. MPs will vote on whether to allocate BGN 54 million for the construction of a system for providing emergency medical assistance by air, as well as BGN 5 million for the construction of a new blood center. /BGNES
