Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov is leaving for a working visit to the United States of America next week. The visit will focus on building on the cooperation between the two countries to ensure energy security.
The first meeting of the Steering Committee of the Intergovernmental Agreement between the two countries for cooperation on the project for the construction of nuclear power capacity at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant site and Bulgaria's civil nuclear programme will be held in Washington.
During the visit, Malinov will meet with US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Jeffrey Pyatt. He is also scheduled to meet with the Assistant Secretary for International Affairs at the US Department of Energy, Andrew Light.
Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov will hold talks with representatives of financing institutions such as the U.S. DFC and the U.S. federal export credit agency EXIM Bank to discuss opportunities for participation in the implementation of projects in the Bulgarian energy sector.
