At a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Gabriel awarded the finalists in the contest for students for the motto of the National Program with initiatives for the celebration in 2024 of the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in NATO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The winner is the motto "NATO: Because we are stronger together" by Maria Nikolaeva from Sofia. Among the awardees were Olga Dincheva from Stara Zagora with her motto "United for security, strong in cooperation" and Ivanina Dimitrova from Varna with the motto "Strength in unity".
"NATO is a community of values and principles. Only with united efforts, sharing good practices and highlighting Bulgaria's contribution to NATO can we be stronger. I thank the finalists and all participants in the competition for the courage to present and defend their ideas and broadcast the message that Bulgaria and NATO are stronger together," said Maria Gabriel.
Students from all over the country took part in the competition, and their proposals were examined and evaluated by an expert committee of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense.
"It is important that the messages of young people reach more people because, through the eyes of the new generation, we see what Bulgaria - a member of NATO - means to them and how to be stronger in today's world of challenges. The winners of the competition are an example of how we convey values between generations, but how the young generation also gives hope and strength for the future," concluded Maria Gabriel.
The motto will be part of the branding of the National Program with initiatives to mark in 2024 the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in NATO and will be used including as a tag and hashtag for publications on social networks.
