Bulgarian Defense Minister Todor Tagarev: We will not send soldiers to Ukraine, the APCs are still in Sofia

"Absolutely not, we will not send soldiers to Ukraine, and this issue is not discussed in our country. Our cabinet has provided aid to Ukraine worth 47 million euros."

This was stated by the Bulgarian Minister of Defense Todor Tagarev. Later today, the minister will give his report on the military aid provided to Ukraine to the deputies of the line committee.

Tagarev announced this morning that there will be new aid for Ukraine and announced that its financial dimension will be several times larger than the one provided so far.

"Constant criticism and attacks against me prevent us from fulfilling this policy of ours," Tagarev said.

The Minister of Defense presented Bulgaria at the international conference in the Elysee Palace, where the European leaders discussed support for Ukraine.

There are countries that are ready to discuss the proposal of the French President Macron, but it is not about sending soldiers to the front, but about specific tasks, Tagarev explained and reiterated that Bulgaria will not send manpower.

Asked what Bulgaria agreed to support during the meeting at the Elysee Palace, Tagarev recalled that our country expressed its intention to be involved in supporting the Ukrainian defense industry.

The APCs for Ukraine are still in Sofia, the minister announced. They will leave in a few days, but I won't say the dates, he added, assuring that the higher priority aid had long since left. He clarified that there are also S-300 systems.

We implement all the decisions of the National Assembly, but it takes time. We are working much more intensively and much more decisively than the caretaker government, Tagarev also said and refuted the criticism of GERB leader Boyko Borisov that the cabinet has not given Ukraine a single bolt:

Until the entry of the cabinet, the aid that was given was worth 13 million euros. At this moment, the aid that we have given only from the army warehouses is valued at 47 million euros, Tagarev announced. /BGNES
