Bilateral cooperation was discussed by Defense Minister Todor Tagarev and H.P. Yosef Levi Sfari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel at a meeting today, October 26, at the Ministry of Defense.
Defense Minister Todor Tagarev emphasized the Bulgarian position condemning the terrorist attack against Israel, reflected in the declaration adopted by the National Assembly on October 13, 2023. It called on the international community to stand in solidarity with Israel and support the state's efforts to protect life and the security of its citizens.
"Bulgaria condemns the relentless attacks of Hamas and supports Israel in its determination to defend its right to peaceful existence, to continue to uphold the values of freedom, legality, democracy and peace," Minister Tagarev pointed out during the meeting, emphasizing Israel's right to is protected according to the international legal order, announced the Ministry of Defense.
H.E. Joseph Levi Sfari expressed his gratitude to Minister Tagarev for his support and sympathy for the people of Israel. During the talks, the growing threats to the security of the countries of the European Union in connection with the danger of terrorism were discussed.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief of Defense Lieutenant General Tsanko Stoykov, the Head of the "Bilateral and Regional Cooperation" Department Daniela Grigorova and the Deputy Head of the Israeli Mission in Bulgaria Naama Levy. /BGNES
