Bulgaria celebrates its National holiday on March 3rd

With official celebrations throughout the country, Bulgarians will observe the National Holiday - March 3.

This year marks 146 years since the Liberation of Bulgaria from Turkish slavery. The main celebrations will be in the capital, and celebrations will be held in all cities around the country, reported BGNES.

President Rumen Radev will participate in the ceremony of raising the national flag of Bulgaria in front of the Monument to the Unknown Warrior in Sofia, where a tribute to the memory of those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria will be paid.

On the occasion of the National Day, at 12:00 p.m., a ceremonial changing of the guard of honor will take place in front of the official entrance of the Presidential Administration building.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov, will attend the thanksgiving prayer service at the "Nativity of Christ" memorial church in the city of Shipka. The ritual will be performed by Metropolitan Cyprian of Stara Zagora and will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The solemn celebration of the National Day of the Republic of Bulgaria and 146 years since the Liberation of the country on Mount Shipka will begin at 11:30 a.m. The celebration is under the patronage of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov, who will deliver a speech in front of the Freedom Monument.

The Speaker of the Parliament and Members of Bulgarian Parliament will be present in Sofia at the Ceremonial Fireworks Commemoration at 18:30 at Tsar Osvoboditel Square./BGNES
