Bulgargaz filed an arbitration claim against Gazprom for 400 million euros before one of the most authoritative institutions in the world.
"Bulgargaz" filed a lawsuit against "Gazprom" for over 400 million euros, as promised in mid-May, due to the termination of supplies by the Russian company at the end of April 2022 - two months after the start of the war in Ukraine, a BGNES reporter reported .
Today, Bulgargaz EAD announced that on Monday, July 8, arbitration proceedings against OOO Gazprom Export were launched before the Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. The lawsuit filed is for compensation for damages of over 400 million euros, suffered as a result of the unilateral suspension of natural gas supplies more than two years ago, at the end of April 2022.
At the end of May 2024, "Bulgargaz" EAD sent an invitation to OOO "Gazprom Export" for a voluntary settlement of the claim of the Bulgarian company, according to the contract between the two companies. After the Russian side did not take action to settle the matter out of court, Bulgargaz took the necessary steps to protect the interests of the company.
