Boyko Borisov: If we do not come to an agreement on March 8, we will go to elections - Kiril Petkov counters that GERB delays until the last moment

"We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) political party is already in an election campaign, GERB leader Boyko Borisov told journalists in the parliament, BGNES reported.

Borisov commented that he is giving his non-coalition partners a few more days to consider their positions and work on the coalition agreement proposed by GERB. He accused them of using the parliament and parliamentary committees for an election campaign. According to Borisov, the next parliamentary elections will be for the regulators.

Europe works with coalition agreements, not with assemblies, not with quarrels, but with a coalition agreement, therefore we will show composure, Borisov pointed out and explained:

On March 5, I will present the coalition agreement of the party - to GERB, on March 6 I will give it to WCC-DB to read, then we have a congress in Bucharest. On March 8, Denkov and Gabriel will have finished evaluating the ministers and we can talk. I will leave a negotiating group on March 8 as well, if we have agreed - let's move forward. If we are not, we vote for Denkov's resignation and go to elections, Borisov said.

We will calmly and patiently try to swallow their election campaign and qualifications, add the leader of GERB, and specify that the agreement will describe how the regulators, MC, the judicial system - everything will work.

He again said that Defense Minister Todor Tagarev is not doing his job.

GERB has a strategy of delaying things until the last moment, countered the co-chairman of WCC-DB Kiril Petkov.

Academician Denkov's evaluations for the ministers have been ready for 4 weeks, we are waiting for Maria Gabriel's evaluations.

This was stated by the co-chairman of WCC-DB Kiril Petkov to journalists in the parliament, a BGNES reporter reported.

Petkov spoke after Boyko Borisov announced that WCC-DB will receive a proposal for a coalition agreement prepared by GERB on the day of Nikolay Denkov's resignation - on March 6, and if they do not reach a consensus by March 8, elections will follow.

Our proposal (the country management memorandum - note ed.) was given to GERB on February 20 - no official response back. On Monday, Boyko Borisov had a personal invitation from me to sit down and talk about all issues. Now I understand that they will continue with the mono performances, commented Kiril Petkov.

He stated that it makes no sense for GERB to give them their proposal for a coalition agreement on the day of his resignation. "In my opinion, GERB has a clear strategy to delay things. I don't know why, but if a mistake is made, the responsibility will be entirely theirs," said Petkov.

"Doesn't it seem strange to you that from March 6 to March 8 they want to negotiate everything," Petkov asked the media.

He said he was skeptical of the idea that GERB wanted to reach an agreement.

"One-man shows are being made to lead to potential elections," concluded Kiril Petkov. /BGNES
