"I got acquainted with the memorandum. It says that applications must be transparent and non-partisan, experts. However, they sent Stanislav Todorov, an MP from "We Continue the Change", as head of State Agency for Energy Regulation - a bright political figure. Petar Petrov was sent as deputy head of State Agency for National Security. Do you see how non-partisan, transparent, how expert".
This was stated by GERB leader Boyko Borisov in the parliament, a day after Deputy Prime Minister Maria Gabriel rejected the memorandum proposed by "We Continue the Chamge-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) on the governance of the country, a BGNES reporter reported.
"Gyurov was sent to the Bulgarian National Bank - a bright political figure. On what transparent principle did they choose the head of Public Financial Inspection Agency", Borisov continued to ask and added: "Where did the non-governmental organizations give their opinion. Whose voice did we hear?"
"In a word, with their spokesmen, they spread in the media that these are some fighters for purity. All their actions so far show the opposite," stressed Borisov.
Regarding the Council of Ministers of Republic of Bulgaria, the GERB leader stated that they slected Maria Gabriel, who has been a European Commissioner for 15 years, and the WCC-DB broadcast Nikolay Denkov, who is a bright political figure.
"Andrei Tsekov - a bright political figure for the minister of the Ministry of Regional Development, Asen Vasilev, who is the leader of the WCC and is a bright political figure. Do you want me to bring them to order? None of these principles of transparency and independence have been observed," commented Borisov , after which he confirmed that GERB is also "in favor" of independent regulators and non-broadcasting of prominent political figures, as written in the memorandum.
He also touched on the issue of non-voting by the WCC-DB in the plenary hall on the project for the construction of the Westinghouse nuclear power plant.
"I am disappointed with WCC-DB because they are failing the construction of the nuclear plant. They voted against, this is not a good sign", added Borisov. /BGNES
