Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia have signed a Treaty of Good Neighbourly Relations, which is inscribed in the enlargement plan and no one can escape from it. This was stated by GERB leader Boyko Borissov, who is also chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee in the National Assembly, a BGNES informs.
Borissov called for patience. "Patience is required from us. All institutions have reacted. We should not look aggressive, because the tactics of our colleagues from North Macedonia is to blame us," the GERB leader warned.
Borissov stressed that anyone who violates good manners, and Bulgaria is not such a country because we did not violate good manners.
"I want to assure the Bulgarian people that everything we have done in the European People's Party, in the European Council, in the European Commission, we are very well heard. This is how the European institutions act. They do not threaten, they do not insult, and the result is that Albania is moving forward. It accepted the Bulgarian minority, and our colleagues from North Macedonia have to bear what their behaviour to date has created," Borissov said, adding that he would try to convince his colleagues in the Foreign Affairs Committee not to act emotionally, but to act pragmatically and reasonably. "Sometimes they say revenge is a dish best served cold." he said.
