A day of reflection before the sixth election in the last 3 years in Bulgaria

June 8 has been is a day of reflection ahead of the sixth consecutive parliamentary elections within 3 years.

This time, 32 political formations will take part in the elections on June 9 - 20 parties, one independent candidate and 11 coalitions, and they will fight for 240 seats in the Bulgarian parliament, BGNES reported.

Pre-election campaigning is traditionally not allowed on the day of reflection. According to the Election Code, it is not allowed to publish data from sociological surveys, from public opinion polls, as well as from exit polls on the results and attitudes of voters in support of a particular party or coalition until the end of election day. The ban also applies to profiles on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Viber, YouTube, etc. media service providers.

In the last parliamentary elections, the day for reflection fell on April 1 - Joke's Day, many people joked that the government would not be. On April 2, 2023, 14 parties and 7 coalitions participated in the elections. Joke or not, we are once again faced with another choice. This year, together with the parliamentary elections, we will also vote for the European Parliament, the representatives of Bulgaria, for whom we will vote in the EP, are 17 in number.

6,518 are the total number of registered candidates for the two types of elections, which will be held on June 9. 6100 are the candidates for the national parliament, 418 - the candidates for the EP.

Of the 6,100 registered candidates for people's representatives in the future 50th National Assembly, 1,826 are women and 4,274 are men.

According to the final lists, 6,138,050 voters will have the right to vote in the elections for members of the European Parliament, and 6,593,275 voters in the elections for the National Assembly.

Voting outside the country will take place in 60 countries, in 769 SECs, in 389 of them voting will be held for both types of elections, in the rest only voting for the National Assembly will be held. There will be 166 polling stations in Turkey, 118 open polling stations in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, 103 in Germany, 64 in Spain, 55 in the USA, 27 in Italy, 24 in the Netherlands, 16 in Canada, and 16 in France. – 15.

On Sunday, the sections in Bulgaria will open at 7:00 a.m. and voting will continue until 8:00 p.m., or until the number of people waiting to vote runs out. | BGNES
