The organization of the June 9 elections is going smoothly. This was announced at a briefing by Central Election Commission (CEC) spokesperson Rositsa Mateva, BGNES reported.
For voting outside the country, the CEC adopted a decision on the list of countries - 60 countries with 776 polling stations, the most being in Turkey, Great Britain and Germany.
"Today, the possibility of applications for voting outside the country was activated. More than 150 applications have already been submitted. There are also unconfirmed applications that can be seen on the CEC website. So far, 10 parties and 8 coalitions have submitted documents for participation in the elections. Tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. the deadline for registration at the CEC expires," announced Mateva.
From April 25, the CEC will accept documents from initiative committees for independent candidates for the EP. From the 25th, the registration of candidate lists for the EP will begin. The lists of candidates for the National Assembly are submitted to the RIC. Candidate lists must be submitted by May 7.
"From April 25, the CEC can submit documents for observers from NGOs. The addresses of the sections, which are over 11,800, are published on the CEC website. 6,157,220 voters have the right to vote for the EP, and 6,639,439 voters for the national parliament. The difference is that for the EP there is a requirement for residency - a current address in Bulgaria or an EU member state," explained Rositsa Mateva./BGNES
