Vucic will not attend the BRICS summit in Kazan

Vucic is due to hold a trilateral meeting with the prime ministers of Slovakia and Hungary - Robert Fico and Viktor Orban - in Bratislava.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will not attend the BRICS summit in Kazan. Serbia will be represented by four ministers - Aleksandar Vulin, Bratislav Gasic, Nenad Popovic and Adriana Mesarovic, RTS reported.

"I had a (phone) conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We talked about the gas agreement, I expect that we will start talking about a long-term agreement with Russia. About additional 3 million cubic meters of gas. The prices are very good, they were fair," Vucic said.

The Serbian president cited his busy schedule as the reason for his absence. Vucic is due to hold a trilateral meeting with the prime ministers of Slovakia and Hungary - Robert Fico and Viktor Orban - in Bratislava. After that, the head of state is due to meet Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Belgrade.

"I respect Putin, I have not hidden it. Serbia is the only one that has not joined any declaration against Russia, he values it highly, I said we will send a delegation, four ministers - Aleksandar Vulin, Bratislav Gasic, Nenad Popovic, Adriana Mesarovic - minister of economy," Vucic said. | BGNES
