Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expects Serbian-Chinese cooperation to reach the level of a "joint future".
Vucic today welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping in the Serbian capital. The two delegations held talks on expanding cooperation.
"Serbia will have China's support on all important political issues," the Serbian head of state said, adding that his Chinese counterpart "listened to our requests and responded to each one."
The two presidents talked about free trade, industry, artificial intelligence, cooperation in the military security sector, culture, healthcare, airlines, and Expo 2027.
Beijing will support the organization and holding of the exhibition in 3 years.
Earlier today, thousands of people welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Palace of Serbia.
The President of the Republic of China and his wife Peng Liyuan were welcomed on the red carpet by President Vučić with his wife Tamara and the Serbian government led by Prime Minister Miloš Vučević.
The Chinese statesman is accompanied by a delegation of around 400 members.
Xi Jinping arrived in Serbia last night from France, where he stayed as part of his first visit to Europe in five years, and will travel to Hungary later today.
Beijing and Belgrade will sign 30 interstate agreements, one of which concerns interdepartmental cooperation between China's Xinhua News Agency and Serbia's Tanjug.
"China and Serbia have provided each other firm support on issues affecting our core interests and major concerns. We have jointly supported international justice and fairness and contributed our share in promoting peace and development in the world," Xi said, adding that bilateral relations have achieved historic results since the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016.
Xi Jinping stressed that the friendship between the two countries is ironclad. /BGNES
