Vucic: Pointless protests against me failed

If we were not living in a time full of challenges and risks, both outside and inside the country, I would be laughing sweetly at the front pages of the tycoon media blatantly lying about some groups in the UPA. Clearly, they don't have much reason to rejoice after the meaningless New Year protests that completely failed.

This is what Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic wrote on social networks, reports BGNES.

Vučić denied there were "fighting factions" in the Serbian Progressive Party (SPS) and said the opposition media were lying about it because their protests against him had failed, RTS reported.

"If we weren't living in a time full of challenges and risks, both outside and inside the country, I would be laughing sweetly at the front pages of the tycoon media blatantly lying about some factions within the SPP. Why should I laugh? Because it's clear to me that they don't have much cause to rejoice after their pointless New Year protests. Don't they feel that when they lie, they are only adding fuel to the fire and thus inflaming anger and hatred throughout Serbia?", Vucic wrote on his Instagram account.

"However, nothing is funny to me, because if they can come up with something like this, then they have no limits when it comes to falsifying reality," the Serbian president continued.

He stressed that because of this, as well as "for the sake of the honest people of Serbia", he wants to say that he is proud of the SPP as "the best and only party that managed to change Serbia for the better, to build its future".

The SPP succeeded "mostly thanks to the loyalty and devotion of its members and supporters", Vučić added.

"These 'loyalists' are not hooligans, and bullies but people who have their own principles that the yellow scoundrels cannot understand. One of our principles is not to form a coalition and not to cooperate with those who ruined the country in the 2000-2012 period. But how can someone who is not even armed defeat you, the "great" heroes? You are pathetic and ridiculous," he wrote.

The head of state stressed that these people are armed with "love for the country and courage to stand up to the worst in Serbia", and paper and pencil are their weapons - strong and invincible.

"Dear friends, their senseless protests are failing, and they start lying more and more. Just be calm. Serbia will win, as always," Vučić concluded. | BGNES
