Vucic organised a rally in his support in Skopje

A letter was read out supporting Vucic's policies and expressing "gratitude for everything he is doing for the development of Serbian-Macedonian relations".

Symbols of "Serbian World" and the Serbian policy of hegemonism in the Balkans were waved at the rally.

The group claimed that the Serbian president "supports the policy of peace, both in the region and in the world". Regarding the current situation with the many thousands of protests in Serbia, it was stated that "the place of children is not in the streets, but in schools".

The meeting was attended by representatives of associations from Kumanovo, Skopje, Tetovo.

Serbia's ambassador to North Macedonia, Nevena Jovanovic, spoke to people at the rally, who handed her a letter addressed to Vucic.

This rally was an unpleasant reminder of the dangerous incident on 25 March 1999, when the US embassy in Skopje was attacked by pro-Serb demonstrators who defended Serbian dictator Slobodan Milosevic's aggression against Kosovo.

At that time, the embassy's outer perimeter fence was smashed, fires were lit and stones and other objects were thrown at the building. The staff inside were barely saved from the mob's attempts to break in. | BGNES
