Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he did not care "who outside wants a different government and opposition in Serbia".
Vučić was commenting on assessments by foreign media across Europe, which echoed opposition calls for an investigation into the sweeping electoral decisions and new elections.
"I don't care what foreign media and governments say, let them deal with themselves and their problems." Some of them have more problems than us. What kind of government and opposition will there be in Serbia, this is what the citizens of Serbia are asking themselves," the president said.
Serbia's president rejected the opposition's demand for an international investigation into alleged election irregularities, saying Serbia's elections were "a matter for state institutions".
Vucic said that the last elections in Serbia were held with "the fewest objections" and that the representatives of the parties on the "Serbia Against Violence" list signed all the protocols at the polling stations.
"Foreign observers from their sister parties signed the protocols. They realized they had a problem when they saw they lost in Belgrade, and they lost convincingly. In July-August, we lost as much as 8% in Belgrade, but we still managed to win in the end," he said.
The president added that the opposition campaigned under the slogan "I hate Vucic".
"You have a homogenized core of people who hate me, but that doesn't bring new votes, such a campaign takes away the votes of ordinary people," added Vucic. /BGNES
