US approves deal with Greece to support F-16 fighter engines

The U.S. State Department has approved a potential deal with Greece to support engines for F-16 fighter jets. The value of the deal is around $160 million, Anatolian News Agency reported.

"The proposed sale would enhance Greece's ability to maintain its fleet of F-16 aircraft, which it operates to promote security in the Eastern Mediterranean," the Pentagon said.

The prime contractor will be General Electric Aerospace in Ivendale, Ohio.

On November 14, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency provided the required certification notifying Congress of the possible sale. | BGNES
