The UN Security Council will today consider Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' report on the work of the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).
Serbia will be represented by President Aleksandar Vucic. Pristina will be represented by President Vjosa Osmani.
The regular report, which covers a six-month period, will be presented by the head of UNMIK, Carolina Ziyade.
The session will start at 17:00 Bulgarian time and will be opened by the Chair of the Security Council for April, Vanessa Fraser.
In the regular report, which covers the period from 19 September 2023 to 15 March 2024, Guterres said that despite some progress in implementing the EU-brokered agreements, tensions between Belgrade and Pristina have increased and the security situation in northern Kosovo remains volatile.
The report, published on the UN website, says there has been no progress towards the establishment of the Association of Serb Municipalities. Guterres called for an investigation into the terrorist attack in the village of Banska (24 September last year), when a Serb armed group attacked Kosovo security forces, occupied a monastery and killed a policeman. /BGNES
